Preventing Harassment and Discrimination Training

All university employees, excluding undergraduate student workers, are required to complete the Preventing Harassment and Discrimination training module. This is an online course regarding sexual misconduct and illegal forms of harassment and your reporting responsibilities as a University of Illinois employee, which is to be completed during the spring semester, annually.

The program will be available this year from:

March 2 - April 3, 2020

 

On March 2nd, employees will receive log-in instructions and deadlines for completion through their official university email account, prompting them to complete their training. These communications will include instructions for accessing the course and employees will log into the module using their university netid and password.

This training is a mandatory, annual requirement, based on the Clery Act (Clery), the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. All employees*, including those on paid sabbaticals, are required to complete the course. It takes approximately two hours to complete the module and this should be done on work time, unless otherwise directed by a supervisor. The course will close promptly at 5:59 pm CT on April 3, 2020 and any employees not fully complete (partial completions will not be honored) will be disciplined for noncompliance, up to and including dismissal.

*Please Note: Undergraduate student workers are the only employees not required to complete the Harassment Prevention (US) module. They complete a separate sexual misconduct training once each academic year.

Accessing the Course:

 

  1. Open your web browser and go to: https://go.uillinois.edu/sexual_misconduct_training
  2. Select your university location, if prompted
  3. Enter your university net id and password
  4. Click the “Login” button
  5. Select the orange “Start” button to the right of the Preventing Harassment and Discrimination course to begin your coursework
